‘La Cave des Amandiers is a bit of a utopia, or rather a dream…
A life project for sure!’
« APPRENDS LES RÈGLES COMME UN PROFESSIONNEL, AFIN DE POUVOIR LES BRISER COMME UN ARTISTE. » PABLO PICASSO (1881-1973)

Created in 2008 by Alexandre Delétraz upon graduating from the Changins School, Cave des Amandiers is a unique project to create and rehabilitate an estate on a mountain vineyard, consisting of vertiginous terraces, some of which had been abandoned.
To bring together different vineyard plots into a single 8-hectare estate, it was necessary to acquire around 200 parcels from 80 different owners. Many of these vines have been replanted with mass selections of endemic and traditional grape varieties, drawn from the rich ampelography of the Valais.
Most of the vineyards are located on the gneiss soils of the commune of Fully. L’essentiel se situe sur les gneiss de la commune de Fully. Another part is rooted in the clay-limestone schists of Leytron and the calcareous loess soils of the Saillon vineyard.
Today, the estate’s production is divided into two parts: the Saillon/Leytron terroirs are promoted under the “Cave des Amandiers” label, while those of Fully are labelled “Alexandre Delétraz”.
